INNER LIFE OF A CUBE

2012

Meandry i pamięć, które go tworzą.

Reflection on the inner anatomy of things.

Every seemingly lifeless object or form – even one as elementary as a cube – has its own inner life. The meanders and memories that constitute it. The certainty of an external structure may be illusory. The cube’s form, stretched between its vertices, becomes like a membrane for internal, organic arteries, capturing vibrations and dramas, transforming the geometric structure and blurring its boundaries. The walls lose their geometric tension. The true narrative unfolds inside.
Does form shape meaning? Does it always reflect inner structure, or does it sometimes blur it – intentionally or not – distort or camouflage it? I juxtapose the geometric form of the cube, structured by mathematical patterns, with materials that lack the physical properties required to sustain the figure’s tension. In this iteration, the cube refuses its own geometric discipline.

Everything is an order. Not always recognized.
